There is NO official committee that organises Dartmoor letterboxing, but an informal letterbox 100 club exists.
To be a member and receive the badges and membership card a letterboxer has to visit 100 letterboxes on Dartmoor
And have visual proof of them.

The Moore family would like to thank all well wishers a big thanks, Dartmoor and all that knew Tony has lost someone very special indeed.

Thanks to all those to where at the Funeral , Sent cards / Emails , Below are the emails we received

We are so sorry to hear the sad news about Tony. Our thoughts are with you at this very sad time.

Best wishes
Tony & Jenny (The Audi-Tor)

Sylvia and family,
Along with the rest of the letterboxing community we were very saddened to hear of Tonys passing. He had been such a stalwart spokesman for our community and did so much hard work in producing the catalogue and updates.
Please look after yourself Sylvia,
with love from
Chris and Deb Williams. (Formely Dudley Delvers now Tenbury Trotters) xxx

So sorry to hear the news but no doubt you are relieved the suffering for him is all over. Hope and I are so sorry we will not be able to make the funeral but I am still in plaster from groin to ankle and cant even get in a car, but our thoughts will be you Sylvia and all the family.

Do take care and look after yourself, you must be very tired.

Veronica and Hope

Letterboxing since 1993, I met (and pestered!) Tony in my earlier days, those days at the end of Letterboxing’s Golden Era now lost, when my enthusiasm was still greater than my understanding of the true and all too often frustrating reality of our beloved hobby!
Tony was unique in bringing to me and hundreds of other walkers, thousands of hours of very special Moor enjoyment and learning! Letterboxing as we all know takes us to places that no other human could ever possibly find without the singular purpose! As long as we letterbox we will remember Tony - He has not left the moor, just that he can’t find his stamp!

We are so sorry to hear of Tony's death. We have known Tony and Sylvia for quite a few years both as letterboxing friends and as Voluntary Wardens for the National Park and have been watching anxiously as his illness progressed. He was a brave man and Sylvia, well how she coped I'm not too sure - I doubt if I would have her fortitude or that seemingly undying hope that he would improve. Bless you all - you are in our thoughts. Jan and Ossie Palmer
